Stuck in my Head

This song has been stuck in my head all day. A great illustration about the ability for the brain to commit to memory something that is put to music. I think I was six or seven when this aired. In this episode Elroy's secret boy scout code is accidentally sent to Jet Screamer (a teen heartthrob) when it is mixed up with Judy's entry to a song-writing contest. Jet used it to create a new hit. Apparently the singer is the guy who played Ernest T. Bass on the Andy Griffith show. You can clearly hear that in the song. Obviously it has been a weird day for me.

Music is powerful stuff. That's why advertisers come up with jingles. That's why one of the best ways to learn scripture and other tenets of the faith is to put them in a hymn or praise song. That's why Alzheimer's sufferers cannot remember their family members but they can sing songs they learned as children.

That's why I'm at that time of year again where I'm waiting to see how many parents think it's more important for their kids to go to Big Spring Jam insted of choir. And as I've learned over the years, I'm not going to hold my breath hoping for a positive outcome.

A few months ago, I had the Brady Bunch's "Keep On" song in my head for a couple of days. That was a long and weird couple of days. Oh great, now it's in my head again! I'll have to break out the Greg Brady (or should I say Johnny Bravo) dance moves for Julie. She'll be like putty in my hands.

I have There's a Little Wheel a Turnin' in My Heart stuck in my head right now! I always get songs stuck in my head. Its usually a different one every day.

I used to make sing-song rhythms out of my history notes so I could remember them for tests.

Kalea and I have been singing Walking In a Winter Wonderland since she got home.

Music is very powerful.
