I am watching the market and I find myself singing the Hank Williams Jr. song "A country boy can survive..."
We're from North California (Indiana) and South Alabam'
and little towns all around this land.
We can skin a buck, and run a trout line
and a country boy can survive,
country folks can survive...
Dad made sure I could. He said it might come in handy some day.
Let's hope not anytime soon.

Larry and I went squirrel hunting on Labor Day, which was a tradition years ago. We decided we are a dying breed. He raised 15 bushels of potatoes, froze 50 bags of corn, butchered 20 chickens, froze 10 pounds of flathead catfish filets and is waiting for his fall crops. That country boy will definitely survive!
Dad
One of Benton's fav songs.
Commenting on Grandpa's comment:
Can Larry survive without all his Apple gadgets though?... I think not. For someone whose a "country boy" at heart, he sure is technologically savvy. I say Grandpa's the true country boy. He still can't text.
Rachel...Leave it to you to tell it like it is! I love it! Can't wait to see you all. Anyone up there know that I-65 also has a south bound lane? Just checking :)
I think we'll all be fine. By the way, now that I've finished the church music paper, I'm working onthe first draft of Tony's retirement Federal Bailout legislation, as you requested.
I actually am from South Alabam', you know, so I'm pretty sure I'll survive. That song was written for me-- you know-- I'm so outdoors-ish and all. I think the use of "ish" shows the irony in that statement. At least I know people who are outdoors-ish. And we will all definitely survive. :-)
I'm turning into my husband with my overusage of "you know"!! AGH! I get on him all the time about that and then look who does it! You know... it's me!
