Cough Drop

I have been suffering from a terrible cold. I hate nothing more than having a cold in the summer...it just doesn't seem right. I have been struggling to breathe and coughing a lot during the past few nights. I remember having a coughing fit last night, but no worse than previous nights. However, last night was exceptional. I woke up in the wee hours of the morning with a cough drop in my mouth. Now, I know I hadn't given myself a cough drop and I don't have sleepwalking behaviors, so someone else had to be involved. At breakfast I asked Debbi if she had put a cough drop in my mouth WHILE I SLEPT and she confessed. Apparently since I was sleeping with my mouth open anyway she decided just to throw a cough drop in there! I can picture her now like a soldier in a bunker pulling a pin and throwing a grenade at an enemy stronghold. Now don't get me wrong, I really appreciate her coming to my aid, but when you put something much like hard candy in your mouth SHOULDN'T YOU BE AWAKE? Isn't this why most mothers make their children crunch hard candy SO THEY DON'T GET CHOKED?! I pleaded my case with logic and fervor over our cereal, but Debbi just laughed at me.

I have to conclude one of two things: 1)that the lack of sleep caused by my wheezing and coughing caused a temporary loss of sanity or 2)she wants me dead.

I'm still trying to figure out which. Until I am sure I am going to sleep on the couch.

Do you have a life insurance policy?

When the coughing gets that bad in my house, that's the point one of us goes to sleep in the living room.

Good news - you get the summer cold over with early so you can come to Junior High 4!

I just read Tony's blog and laughed so hard that I have tears streaming down my face! It really happened just like that! But... I did not realize that he was coughing in his SLEEP! How could anyone sound like they were trying to cough up a lung for ten minutes and still be asleep?

All I know is that when I popped that cough drop in his mouth, it was like putting a pacifier in the mouth of a baby! A few sucks and he was sleeping sound... and so was I!

His life was not in danger:)

And to answer your question Jason... Yes. He is worth more dead than alive. (monetarily)

if Debbi knew how insane her mother-in-law was about the fear of choking I know she would not have done such a thing. now she knows and will probably tell me she will never do that again, won't you Debbi? You know I love you but I don't want to have to come down there and butt in...if you believe that you'll believe just about anything! Actually I do want to come down there but just cause I love you. Joyce, you crack me up! I will have you know that he did it again the next night and I polietly sat straight up in bed and yelled very loudly, "Do you need a cough drop?" He very rudely said, "You are not funny." He then proceeded to cough up a lung and go back to sleep. No attempts at cough control from my side of the bed... even though I wanted to choke him myself!

Love You... Come and see me!

Tony,

Is working in the garden making you cough?

I think you'd better rest and do nothing for a while...

(waiting for a response from Debbi). LOL

Liz, you are so funny. The "rest" he is getting right now is on a MISSIONS TRIP with about 35 kids and adults! I talked to him last night and he said that he and Maddi are on a team that is re-wiring a house today!

Wow, wiring a house? My son? Lets pray over those people. Mom

This has nothing to do with your post, but I felt the need to share it. I found it through a post of a friend of my friend's blog. Just copy and paste this link: http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html .
To fully understand it, you should probably look back at some of the older posts.

Love ya'll.

There's a .html after the word archive in that link. I don't know why it didn't show up.
